Access is planning, not an afterthought
Accessibility
Access information should not be hidden in a footer. Build it into every booking, contact the official Access Booking Service early, and check access on each specific performance - many Fringe spaces are temporary or repurposed.
Start here: the Access Booking Service
- Dedicated access phone: +44 (0)131 226 0002, plus an access email and WhatsApp text service.
- BSL relay via Contact Scotland.
- Complimentary personal assistant / companion ticket support.
- Wheelchair users: some app and website access-booking functions are not fully available in 2026 - contact the access service directly.
Access icons and enhanced performances
- Access icons show audio enhancement systems, wheelchair-accessible performance spaces and wheelchair-accessible toilets.
- Listings flag audio-described, BSL-interpreted, captioned, relaxed and touch-tour performances.
- BSL on Request is available with Deaf Action, ideally with at least seven days notice.
- A sighted-guide service runs in partnership with RNIB Scotland.
Sensory and quieter-space support
- Free sensory tools are available during August, with order and collection options.
- Visual timetables help neurodivergent visitors plan the day.
- A quieter-spaces map and Changing Places / accessible-toilet information are published for August.
Access details are from the official Fringe accessibility page; confirm the latest procedures with the Access Booking Service.
